I have been up to... very little. (Note: I was going to say 'nothing', but that's not entirely true. I've been doing things recently, just not lots of things.) In the few weeks since I posted, not a whole lot has happened to me. Yes, I know that it's up to me to make things happen to me, and I've been trying. I've decided to become more involved in my Singles Ward. I've been going to ward activities and FHE for the past few weeks. I'm hoping to get to know the people there more. It's been good times. I really have an awesome ward, so enjoying the activities really isn't that hard to do.

I'm Sure You're All Wondering Why I've Called You Here Today...

I know this is just an excuse...
But, enough of my excuses. Let's get down to the nitty-gritty. And, by nitty-gritty, I mean the boring stuff that has been happening to me since I last posted. There's a lot that has happened, but not all of it has been post worthy, so I'll leave some stuff out.
If you read any of the other blogs that I write/contribute to, you'll remember that I had to buy a new mp3 player because my iPod Touch's battery had crapped out on me. So, I ended up buying an Archos 5 to replace it. Now, I loved my iPod Touch, and I still do, so I was determined to try to get the battery working again. (Note: I do also love my Archos 5, if for any reason, because I have the DVR Station for it as well that lets me record TV straight onto the player.) So, in trying to find out why my Touch's battery so suddenly died, I started doing some internet research to see if anybody else's had done the same thing. I thought for sure that I would be the only one who had issues, but after only a few minutes of looking, I found what I was looking for. Turns out that when Apple released the iPod Touch OS 3.1 people all over started having battery issues, as well as many, many other issues. People with an iPhone started dropping calls, or never recieving them, they also couldn't access their text messages or their voicemails. But, the biggest problem was the battery for most people. Where we used to be able to keep our Touchs and iPhones unplugged for several days, it was now a miracle if they made it through an 8 hour work day. So, how did I go about fixing it? Well, I never had the problem with OS 3.0, so I did some searching and found a way to downgrade my Touch back to the previous OS, which fixed my problem. I was exstatic. But, now I had not only my Touch, but an Archos 5 as well. Not that this is a problem, I just felt somewhat foolish for immediately going out and replacing my Touch. So, now my Archos 5 has become more of a DVR and less of a bring-to-work PMP. I still will bring it out and about with me, especially when I'm going to want to watch movies, but it usually sits atop my TV recording my favorite TV shows now.
Speaking of my Archos, I found out that the movies and TV shows that I downloaded from the iTunes Store aren't able to be played on it... without help. So, I've been doing some searching for a program that can take the DRM off of my iTunes purchases so that I can watch them on my Archos's beautiful, large screen. It's slow going, but I'm certain that there are programs out there that can do it.
I finally did something that I've been wanting to do for a while now. I had my PSP modded with a custom firmware so that I can play ROMS of older games on it. I can now play PSX/PSone, N64, SNES, NES, Gameboy/Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Game Gear and even Scumm games on it. (You know what a Scumm game is, even if you think you don't. Remember Monkey Island? Day of the Tentacle? Those were all Scumm games.) I'm so stoked about that. Granted, some of the ROMS I've downloaded don't run superbly well on my PSP (some are downright ridiculously slow), but the classics all run really well. I've been playing a lot of Super Mario World on it over the past few days, and I'm loving it. It's funny how a game like Super Mario World will run perfectly fine, but a game on the same system, Donkey Kong Country, runs super super slow on my PSP. It's frustrating, but I'm okay with it. I'm really trying to find a place where I can download PSX and PSone ROMS to play on it. I'm eager to see how they run on the PSP, the same goes with Sega Saturn games.
That's about it for new things in my life. I'm still doing photography, but it's slow going now. People just don't usually have their pictures taken this time of year. But I'm still keeping my hopes up that business will pick up.

"I'm Sick Of" Friday
Enough intro, let’s move on to the list.
#10: I’m sick of… the phones at work. Is it too much to ask for the people who are calling me to know what they’re talking about?
#9: I’m sick of… digital signals on T.V.s. I would much rather have an analog signal that is somewhat fuzzy than a digital signal that replaces fuzziness with complete loss of picture.
#8: I’m sick of… the ads on Facebook reminding me that I’m single. I can’t even log on anymore without 3 or 4 ads telling me about local singles that want to meet me.
#7: I’m sick of… drunken people at concerts. Yes, I know that it’s more enjoyable for you, but when I see you wandering around with urine all down your pants afterwards, it stops being enjoyable for me.
#6: I’m sick of… every negative comment about Pres. Obama being made into a racist remark. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you on something, doesn’t mean that they are prejudiced toward you, Barack.
#5: I’m sick of… my cell phone and any computer telling me that my name isn’t a real word. No, I’m not trying to spell “Crypon” or “Bryozoan”.
#4: I’m sick of… not being able to eat Ice Cream without my teeth hurting. I hate sensitive teeth.
#3: I’m sick of… bills. Why does living on my own have to cost so much?
#2: I’m sick of… the printer at work having to stop printing in the middle of a job just so it can calibrate itself for the 5th time today.
#1: I’m sick of… all the companies telling me that it will cost $2,500.00 to repair and recover my external hard drive. Come on, it can’t really cost that much. You’re obviously exploiting people who need your help and that’s really lame in my book.
So, there’s my first “I’m Sick Of” Friday list. Hope you enjoyed it. Is there anything that you’ve grown sick of this week? Share them in the comments.

An Intro Of Sorts
First off, earlier this year, I finally moved out of my parent’s house. I’m now living in my own little apartment by myself. It gets lonely, but I don’t think I’d do too well with a roommate unless we each had our own bathroom and such. Plus, my apartment is only a one bedroom, so there’s no room for a roommate anyway. I moved out back in April and have been doing pretty well since then. I recently signed up for internet in my apartment, and that has been wonderful. It’s nice to be able to go online without having to be at my friend’s or parent’s house… or at work. Hopefully, this will mean that I’m able to blog more often. (I used to only blog when I was at work.)
Currently, my life consists of: work, eating, sleeping and work with the occasional video game or movie thrown in there to mix things up. I can’t really afford to go to school now that I’m paying rent and utilities and bills and such. I know, I know, I should apply for some grants or scholarships to pay for school, and believe me, I’ve thought about it. The only problem is that I never really qualify for any of the scholarships due to not so good grades in high school. Also, I don’t really have much free time anymore, which would make school difficult, even for an online class. I can’t really afford to lower my hours at work because I need the full 40/week to pay for rent and such. So, I’m not really planning on any school in the foreseeable future.
Wow, that last paragraph really sounded like I was complaining, but I really wasn’t trying to make it sound that way.Let’s see, what else has been going on in my recent life…? Well, I’m single, but that’s not really something new. I don’t really date anymore, simply because I don’t want to deal with the stress of it. The closest I’ve come to a date recently was at the Australian Pink Floyd concert I went to last night when a random drunk girl sat on me as a joke. How pathetic is that?
My younger brother, who is currently in England on and LDS mission, will be coming home in roughly two months. His release date is the day before Thanksgiving. My whole family is excited about that. It really doesn’t seem like he’s been gone for two years, but I guess it really has been that long, which is crazy to me.
It is strange how time seems to fly by faster the older you get. I remember when a year used to seem like it would drag by (probably because I was in school), but now, it’s already halfway through September. It seems like only yesterday my family was celebrating Christmas, and now I have to start shopping for presents again.
Well, that seems like enough of a catch up for now. If something else comes up, I’ll post it later. I’ve got some ideas for this blog that I’m going to try out. One of them is “I’m Sick Of” Fridays which will be my list of 10 things I’m sick and tired of. (Hopefully, people’s names won’t appear on those lists too often.) I’ll think of some other things to post on here to make it more than just a ranting or an “all about me” blog. Got any ideas for me of what I can post here? Share them in the comments.
A Blog For All Occasions
But, I feel that I should somehow incorporate chairs into this blog still, but I’m not sure how. I’ll figure something out on that front, but until then, please enjoy my blog!
